Rigid semi-automatic hydraulic double miter saw designed for cutting large sections.
It is built with a massive base structure and cast iron components, one-piece welded steel head combined with a 34 mm (1”1/4) blade height, a heavy-duty gear box motor to ensure maximum stability and outstanding performance.
The high-quality construction and the compact footprint make this model unique in its range.

Thanks to the Carif Patented Hydraulic System with feed and pressure regulator, the 550 can cut any type of material and thickness. The blade cuts through the material with constant auto-regulation according to the material cross-section, significantly improving performance and extending blade life.

The main features of 550 BSA

FRAME

The Heavy duty welded structural steel frame precision-machined on our machining center in a single setup, guarantee the cutting of solid bars up to 330 mm (13”) diameter and 550 (21”) mm plate.

WHEELS

Made of ductile cast iron of a diameter 400mm (dia. 16”)  to ensure high tensile strength and wear resistance.

GEAR BOX MOTOR

Powerful Motor 3.2HP combined with Heavy-duty worm gear reducer to ensure high torque, transmitted directly to the drive wheel through a Ø65 mm transmission shaft.

ECCENTRIC ROLLER

The roller lifts slightly above the support surface to facilitate the feeding of heavy short pieces.

BLADE SWITCH

Automatic cycle stop in case of blade breakage or drive wheel slippage.

WORKPIECE SURFACES

Large workpiece support surfaces provide a practical working area.The tables are independent of the saw arm rotation.Once worn, the tables can be turned upside down, always providing a new working surface.

CONTROL PANEL

Practical and easy to use, equipped with a speed selector, coolant pump selector, and emergency stop button. On the side, the Carif hydraulic control is located for adjusting feed rate and cutting pressure.

CHIPS TANK

Large chip tray complete with a perforated tank that allows coolant to pass through while retaining swarf. Easy to clean.

MEASURING DEVICE

Measuring hard stop L=500 mm with height regulation.

All CARIF models 260/320/450 are completely Hydraulic: closure of the vice, bow feed and pressure.

Closure of the vice, bow feed and pressure. The Carif hydraulic patented system has been designed with 2 commands: BOW FEED and CUTTING PRESSURE.
Thanks to this system the blade regularly descends, with a constant auto-regulation for every material type, section and thickness.

Increased productivity: No operator during cutting cycle, Ø stops.

Longer blade life: Slows down the bow descent without straining the blade when worn out.

Always straight cut: Auto-regulation of blade-stress based on material hardness and section.

Fast cutting operations: Fully hydraulic cycle. More efficiency.

Why choose a Carif band saw

The heavy-duty structure ensures outstanding cutting performance on all types of materials and section sizes. All cutting capacities and technical data specified are referred to solid materials: whether cutting standard steels or high-strength materials, a CARIF band saw gives the same reliability and cutting efficiency.

Cutting perpendicularity is tested and guaranteed within decimal tolerances, with a maximum deviation of 0.2 mm every 100 mm.

Note: To achieve optimal cutting performance and maintain straightness, it is essential to properly adjust the carbide inserts on the blade guides, to set the right cutting parameters Bow feed and cutting pressure. Additionally, the blade quality and, last but not least, the correct TPI configuration play a crucial role.

Can this machine cut an HEB 300 beam?

Yes. Up to +45°, it can cut sections up to 300 × 300 mm.

 

Which blade does this machine mount?

The 550 BSA comes equipped with an M42 blade, size 3820 × 34 × 1.1 mm, with 4/6 TPI

Are the workpiece support tables replaceable?

Yes. When worn, the support tables can be reversed and used on both sides. They are interchangeable and always available as spare parts.
