Extremely robust automatic CNC bandsaw with a 34 mm blade height, equipped with an intuitive and easy-to-use programming panel, and a 4 kW motor with electronic speed variator.

The robust cast parts, the arm made of steel welded and the CARIF hydraulic control unit for bow pressure and feed allow continuous cutting of long solid bars within the indicated capacities. 
Thanks to the practical hydraulic vises and the automatic memorization of the cutting start point and cutting length, Set-up and adjustment times are significantly reduced.

The main features of 450 BA CNC

ONE SIDE MITER

Miter cut one way up to +60° in Semi-automatic and Automatic mode. Manual frame rotation. Two conical bearings in the head casting support ensure smooth, stable movement, independent of the material’s resting surface.

FRAME

The Heavy duty welded structural steel frame precision-machined on our machining center in a single setup, guarantee the cutting of solid bars up to 330 mm diameter and 450×240 mm plate.

CONTROL PANEL

Numerical control keyboard with USB key for updates.
Easy and fast storage up to 100 cutting programs with visualization of all parameters. Possibility to create sub-programs on the same bar.

FEED SYSTEM

Rigid cast-iron carriage mounted on two solid chrome bars Ø 60 mm.
Hydraulic feeding system with power pack and 35lt. oil tank.

All CARIF models 260/320/450 are completely Hydraulic: closure of the vice, bow feed and pressure.

Closure of the vice, bow feed and pressure. The Carif hydraulic patented system has been designed with 2 commands: BOW FEED and CUTTING PRESSURE.
Thanks to this system the blade regularly descends, with a constant auto-regulation for every material type, section and thickness.

The heavy-duty structure ensures outstanding cutting performance on all types of materials and section sizes. All cutting capacities and technical data specified are referred to solid materials: whether cutting standard steels or high-strength materials, a CARIF band saw gives the same reliability and cutting efficiency.

Cutting perpendicularity is tested and guaranteed within decimal tolerances, with a maximum deviation of 0.2 mm every 100 mm.

Note: To achieve optimal cutting performance and maintain straightness, it is essential to properly adjust the carbide inserts on the blade guides. Additionally, the quality of the blade and the correct tooth configuration for the material to be cut play a crucial role.

FAQ

What is the maximum length achievable with a single feed stroke?

In Automatic Mode, for safety reasons, the maximum carriage feed stroke is set to 550 mm per single advance. 

For cut lengths over L= 550 mm, the control system automatically calculates the required number of feed cycles, taking the blade thickness into account.

Example: For a cut length of 500 mm, the first feed stroke will be 320 mm, while the second stroke will be 180 mm plus the blade thickness, ensuring the correct final dimension.

The maximum length tolerance for each feed stroke is ±0.1 mm. 

Note: If the machine is frequently used for long cut lengths (>500 mm), we recommend operating in Semi-Automatic mode , combining a length stop after the saw such as the CARIF MS or CARIF DMS.

Why choose this band saw instead of a double column model?

The 450 BA CNC offers performance levels fully comparable to a double column band saw. It is often assumed that double column machines are inherently better suited for cutting solid, heavy-duty and high-strength materials compared to swing-frame band saws. However, the real key factor is the structural build quality of the machine.

The 450 BA CNC is designed with a high-rigidity cast structure and an extremely robust saw frame made from a single welded steel piece. It is also equipped with spheroidal cast iron pulleys and a 34 mm blade, ensuring high stability, precision, and excellent cutting capability even on demanding materials.

Thanks to these construction features, the 450 BA CNC delivers performance equivalent to a double column band saw, with the additional advantage of a more competitive cost and a better overall investment efficiency.

What is the vertical hydraulic device used for and when should it be used?

A vertical hydraulic clamping device connected to the feed carriage is included with the machine. This system is highly effective both for cutting multiple solid bars and for single-bar operations.

Thanks to the hydraulic clamping system, 6-meter-long bars are securely held by both the horizontal vises and the vertical clamp, ensuring maximum stability during the cutting process.
