The main features of 450 BA CNC TOUCH 4.0

ONE SIDE MITER

Miter cut one way up to +60° in Semi-automatic and Automatic mode. Manual frame rotation. Two conical bearings in the head casting support ensure smooth, stable movement, independent of the material’s resting surface.

FRAME

The Heavy duty welded structural steel frame precision-machined on our machining center in a single setup, guarantee the cutting of solid bars up to 330 mm diameter and 450×240 mm plate.

FEED SYSTEM

Rigid cast-iron carriage mounted on two solid chrome bars Ø 60 mm.
Hydraulic feeding system with power pack and 35lt. oil tank.
Heavy-duty hydraulic cast-iron feed cube with Ø 95 mm piston and hardened, carburized jaws to ensure reliable feeding of long solid bars.
High-precision multiple cuts (accuracy ±0.1 mm), with incremental encoder and magnetic scale for automatic acquisition of the cutting length.

HYDRAULIC CLAMP

Hydraulic vertical clamping device mounted on the feeding carriage for bar clamping. 

CONTROL PANEL

Touch screen 7” LED with multifunctional software with an easy interface. Easy creation of cutting lists with an unlimited number of programs that can be saved by part name or code.
Possibility to import/export programs and cutting list through USB with connection to a network folder for PC access and remote assistance.

CARIF SOFTWARE 4.0

The CARIF Touch 4.0 software allows real-time monitoring of the machine and detection of any problems accruing during the cycle. Dedicated section to track the blade consumption history.

PRACTICAL WORKING TABLES

Large, easily removable tables offering a wide and ergonomic post-cut working surface. Length of 460 mm after the blade, the table provides optimal support for multiple cut pieces.

BLADE BRUSH

Adjustable blade brush connected to the motor pulley to ensure proper blade cleaning and facilitate chip evacuation.

BLADE SWITCH + LOAD CELL

Blade tension is displayed and controlled through a load cell, while the blade switch stops the machine in case of blade breakage or drive wheel slippage.

CHIPS TANK

Large chip tray complete with a perforated tank that allows coolant to pass through while retaining swarf. Easy to clean.

All CARIF models 260/320/450 are completely Hydraulic: closure of the vice, bow feed and pressure.

Closure of the vice, bow feed and pressure. The Carif hydraulic patented system has been designed with 2 commands: BOW FEED and CUTTING PRESSURE.
Thanks to this system the blade regularly descends, with a constant auto-regulation for every material type, section and thickness.

Why choose this band saw instead of a double column model?

The 450 BA TOUCH offers performance levels fully comparable to a double column band saw. It is often assumed that double column machines are inherently better suited for cutting solid, heavy-duty and high-strength materials compared to swing-frame band saws. However, the real key factor is the structural build quality of the machine.

The 450 BA TOUCH is designed with a high-rigidity cast structure and an extremely robust saw frame made from a single welded steel piece. It is also equipped with spheroidal cast iron pulleys and a 34 mm blade, ensuring high stability, precision, and excellent cutting capability even on demanding materials.

Thanks to these construction features, the 450 BA TOUCH delivers performance equivalent to a double column band saw, with the additional advantage of a more competitive cost and a better overall investment efficiency.

 

What does Industry 4.0 band saw mean and how do CARIF band saws comply?

Industry 4.0 refers to an advanced industrial production model based on the digitalization of processes, the interconnection between machines and management systems, and the use of real-time data to optimize manufacturing operations.

Machines compliant with Industry 4.0 requirements are able to communicate with company systems (such as ERP/MES systems), enabling the exchange of work programs, remote monitoring, production data collection, and full process traceability.

This integration helps increase productivity, reduce machine downtime, and improve overall control of the entire production cycle.

An Industry 4.0 band saw is therefore a machine capable of connecting to the company network, exchanging cutting programs, and transmitting production data useful for remote monitoring. Typical data exchanged by a band saw include: job start/end time, number of pieces produced, cycle time, and machine running hours.

Thanks to the modern CARIF Touch software, installed on automatic band saws equipped with a 7” LED Touch Screen panel, it is possible to send cutting programs directly to the machine and manage the exchange and collection of production data.
